I bought a Xbox 360 console is the 11/04/2008, but now it is not working anymore, it has the three red light I feel very bad for that in fact I have thought that I lost my money with this purchase
If you're going to buy a console, I still recommend the X-box 360 over the Wii and PS3 because of its superior game selection, online service, controller, price (to the PS3), and graphics (to the Wii, and the 360 is barely below the PS3). I thought it would be the end to my x-box problems, but 3 months later my x-box would freeze anytime from the first few seconds i turned it on until 4 minutes into a game.
The x-box 360 is still the most fun console out there, and I would highly recommend it to anyone buying a console. I thought that all those people that submitted bad reviews just took bad care of their console.
When I first bought this, I thought it was the best thing ever. When they shipped it back after the repair, Microsoft had installed the falcon chipset that was supposed to be problem free.
It was smooth sailing for the first year, but then my x-box 360 got the RROD. I thought that it was simply because my x-box was a zephyr.
I just sent it back, hoping that the problems will be fixed. Just make sure you keep your warranty extended as long as possible, or know how to fix the X-box 360 because no matter how well you take care of your 360, you're going to run into problems, but less with the newer consoles.
20GB memory fill up quick, especially with the cost of the XBOX now, the bigger Hard Drive is worth the buy. I'm already half full with all the updates and the level downloads.
The reliability of this system is aweful. You quickly get the feeling you have to pay for every single thing that should come included with this system. The controller is decent however the D-pad is difficult to get to go in the direction you desire since it is round and all connected together.
This apparently happens to about 35%+ of all 360s. Making them rechargable is an extra purchase. My harddrive failed after 2 months, and after 4 months the system failed altogether with what's called the RRoD(Red Ring of Death).
I also don't like having to switch out batteries when they go dead. My brother in law has had 5 fail. You pay $[.]./yr to play online and the service is pretty good, but it should be free and this can become pricey if you have several people in your house that want their own IDs for game saves and acheivements. It has a very good games library, and is nice in appearance.
Also it doesn't include WiFi for wireless internet, that is also an extra purchase. If you don't mind risking failure and don't mind paying for everything you do and get then you'll enjoy this system.
Fist of all I dont have it yet but hopefully it works. My mom paid 196 somthin for it. Thats not a bad price especially since it comes w/a rapid fire controller. So I her son will do a review when it gets here hopefully next week.
